12-Lead Electrocardiogram (ECG)

12-Lead Electrocardiogram (ECG)

A quick, non-invasive test that records the electrical activity of your heart from twelve different angles.

It helps diagnose arrhythmias, heart attacks, and other cardiac conditions by detecting abnormalities in heart rhythm, rate, and electrical conduction.

Patient Preparation

  • Clothing: Wear a two-piece outfit to allow easy access to your chest. You may be asked to remove your top and wear a gown during the test.
  • Skin Preparation: To ensure accurate readings, small areas on your chest, arms, and legs may need to be cleaned or shaved for proper electrode contact.
  • Comfort & Privacy: You will lie flat on an exam bed. Every effort is made to maintain your comfort and privacy throughout the procedure.
  • No Special Restrictions: You can eat, drink, and take medications as usual unless otherwise advised by your doctor.

The test takes only a few minutes and is completely painless. Results are reviewed by your cardiologist and shared with your referring doctor.
