Cardiac imaging and clinical cardiologist.
Dr Shruti Rateesh is a cardiac imaging, and clinical cardiologist. Following the completion of her bachelor’s degree, in Biomedical Science (Bond University) in 2004, Shruti completed her medical degree at the University of Sydney in 2008. She undertook her resident years and basic medical training in Brisbane; during this time, she discovered a passion for cardiology and intensive care medicine. Shruti completed her advanced training in cardiology at The Prince Charles Hospital (Brisbane), and at Sydney’s Liverpool Hospital in 2018.
Shruti continued on at Liverpool Hospital as a fellow in advanced cardiac imaging, acquiring expertise in transthoracic, stress, and transesophageal echocardiography, cardiac CT and cardiac MRI. Throughout her training she has participated actively in research, and as a conjoint associate lecturer for both the University of Queensland and University of New South Wales, Shruti is involved in mentoring and teaching medical students and junior doctors.
Shruti’s interest in cardiac imaging serves her well as a cardiologist, especially in the evaluation and treatment of coronary artery disease and chest pain syndromes, heart failure and cardiomyopathies, valvular dysfunction, and the general management of arrhythmias.
