About us

CVC Cardiovascular Clinics was founded in 2015 by Managing Director Dr Alexander Incani, who envisioned a private cardiology group that would bring together like-minded specialists dedicated to delivering exceptional cardiovascular care. What began as a single clinic at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital in Spring Hill has grown into a trusted network of seven practices across South East Queensland.

Today, our team includes thirteen expert cardiologists and seven highly trained cardiac scientists, supported by thirty administrative staff and a strong management team. Our growth reflects our commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and compassionate care.

Advanced Care for Structural Heart Conditions at CVC Cardiovascular Clinics.

Dr Alexander Incani and Dr Karl Poon, highly respected interventional cardiologists, lead the Structural Heart Program at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital, delivering world-class, multidisciplinary care for patients with complex heart valve conditions. Since its establishment in 2018, the program has become one of the most advanced in Australasia. It has recently been recognised as a TAVI teaching centre of excellence by Edwards LifeSciences – only one of two sites in the southern hemisphere.

Together, Dr Incani and Dr Poon pioneered Queensland’s first private-sector Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) program. Since its inception, the program has achieved outstanding outcomes.

The Structural Heart Program focuses on minimally invasive procedures using innovative technologies to treat conditions such as:

  • Aortic valve stenosis with TAVI
  • Mitral valve regurgitation using MitraClip
  • Tricuspid valve regurgitation with TriClip
  • LAA occlusion in AF
  • ASD/PFO closure
  • Paravalvular leak closure
  • Variety of closures for congenital and acquired anomalies

Each patient is assessed and treated by a collaborative Heart Team that includes interventional and general cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, anaesthetists, intensivists, and geriatricians. This team-based approach ensures personalised, evidence-based care tailored to each individual’s needs.

St Andrew’s is a nationally accredited centre for both MitraClip and TAVI procedures, offering patients access to the latest innovations in structural heart care in a private hospital setting.
